USF women’s tennis continues to battle on fall slate at FIU invite | Tech Rasta


TAMPA (October 31, 2022) – The University of South Florida women’s tennis team continued their demanding fall schedule this past weekend at the FIU Invitational in Miami, Oct. 28-30.

The Bulls took on the Southeastern Conference hosts Panthers, Florida Atlantic and Missouri during the three-day event.

Senior Margriet Timmermans and rookie Ireland Simme led the way for the Bulls with impressive wins on the final day of competition.

Timmermans knocked out Romary Cardenas of Missouri in straight sets 6-2, 5-7, 6-0.

Simme, who was impressive in the fall in her first round of college tennis, came back from a set down to defeat FIU’s Kristina Miletic, 4-6, 7-6(7), 6-3.

The Bulls will close out the fall season at the UNF Invitational at the UNF Tennis Complex in Jacksonville, Fla. from Friday, Nov. 11 through Sunday, Nov. 13.
