Tennis wraps up day one of Princeton Fall Invitational | Tech Rasta


PRINCETON, N.J. – The Rutgers women’s tennis team wrapped up the first day of action at the Princeton Fall Invitational.

The team recorded two wins in doubles and six in singles to start the competition at the three-day tournament.


Rutgers started the day with two doubles wins. The pairs of Chloe Brown/Amira Badaoui (8-1) and Daira Cardenas/Mai Nguyen (8-7) both picked up victories over UCONN.


The Scarlet Knights followed up the doubles with a strong singles performance, winning six of eight matches, all in straight sets.

Jackeline Lopez defeated his opponent from LIU, with a quick 6-3, 6-3 decision. Tara Chilton and Mai Nguyem followed that up with dominating 6-0, 6-0 wins, not allowing their opponent to take a single game.

Chloe Brown fought back for the win, 7-5, 6-3. To finish, Daira Cardenas (6-3, 6-0) and minchae kim (6-4, 6-1) ended the day for RU with convincing wins.
