Average groundwater levels in the state between October 2022 were 3.71 m (m bgl) below ground level and varied from 1.76 m bgl (Suryapet) to 7.16 m bgl (Sangareddy).
Of the 33 districts in 25 districts, the average water level is < 5 m bgl and the remaining 8 districts are between 5-10 m bgl.
Groundwater levels increased a net average of 0.78 m during October 2022 compared to October 2021 and increased in 28 districts (0.07 m in Nizamabad to 2.52 m in Medak), and Decrease in the remaining 05 districts (0.03 Jagtial to 1.19 in Karimnagar)
Groundwater levels averaged a net increase of 5.30 m during October 2022 compared to May 2022 and increased in 33 districts (2.54 m Wanaparti to 8.96 m in Medak).
