Realme UI update with Jio 5G support now rolling out: report | Tech Rasta

Smartphone brand Realme is reportedly rolling out a software update that brings Jio 5G support to Realme devices. According to TechyPreacher, Realme 5G smartphones will get Realme UI updates for Jio 5G support along with Android security patches in September. Many Realme users also reported the same on Twitter. This update also comes with other system and stability improvements.

With the latest update, Realme 5G smartphones will support Jio 5G. Madhav Sheth, vice president of Realme, said in a statement: “We have partnered with India’s leading telcos and curated a series of bundled offers for our users. By October, 85% of our devices were SA-ready and we 100 % of devices will fully support SA. We will also be rolling out OTA updates for our devices to ensure all our users can take full advantage of 5G.”

5G was launched by PM Narendra Modi at the opening ceremony of India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2022 on October 1. 5G services could change the data landscape by delivering low-latency, high-speed internet. 5G services will provide seamless coverage, high data rates, low latency and highly reliable communication systems.

Reliance Jio announced that they will launch these services on a phase-out basis. This means that the first phase will include the provision of 5G services to 4 cities of Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai. These cities will receive 5G services during the Diwali festival, which runs from October 22 to 26. The national capital and three other megacities planning to receive Jio5G services on Diwali will also face redundancy as only parts of the city will be served. Other cities will get Jio 5G by December 2023.
