The Realme 9i 5G has finally been announced, and it’s exactly what we expected. The new smartphone features the Dimensity 810 chipset, a large battery and a shiny design inspired by music CDs.
The screen is a 6.6-inch LCD with a waterdrop notch on top. With a resolution of 1080p, Realme is proud to announce that the panel of the 9i 5G supports a 90 Hz refresh rate. The fingerprint scanner is on the side, embedded in the power key.
There are three cameras on the back, clustered in the upper left corner. The main camera is 50 MP with f/1.8 aperture and a 5P lens, while the other two cameras are a 2 MP portrait camera and a 2 MP macro camera for close-up shots no larger than 4cm. The selfie camera is 8 MP.
Realme 9i 5G key features
The Realme 9i 5G has been revealed to have a 5,000 mAh battery inside and will offer 18W fast charging support via a USB-C port. There’s also a 3.5mm audio jack at the bottom. The phone comes with Android 12-based Realme UI 3.0 out of the box.
In terms of performance, the phone supports dual 5G standby, and the card tray also has a designated micro SD location, which can further expand the storage space to 2 TB. The RAM can be expanded up to 3 GB, depending on the internal RAM.
The phone is billed as the thinnest 5G smartphone in the segment, which may sound like nitpicking, but it’s still an 8.1mm-thin phone and weighs just 187 grams. It comes in three colors – Soulful Blue, Rock Black and Metallic Gold – and yes, the names are also inspired by music, not just looks.
The Realme 9i 5G comes in two memory combinations – 4/64 GB and 6/128 GB. Priced at Rs 14,999 ($188) and Rs 16,999 ($215) respectively, pre-orders will start on August 24 on Realme.com, Flipkart and some offline stores.
