Men’s tennis resumes its fall slate with two weekend tournaments | Tech Rasta


ANNAPOLIS, Md. — The Navy men’s tennis team will split its squad to compete in two tournaments this weekend on each side of the country. Four Mids will travel to the West Coast to compete in the San Diego Veterans Tennis Classic and the rest of the team will travel to Richmond, Va. to compete in the River City Tennis Open.

Play in both events from Friday to Sunday.

Finn Garner (Sr., Arnold, Maryland), Luke Garner (So, Arnold, Maryland), Sasha Panyan (Lutherville, Maryland) and Gavin Segraves (Sr., Charlottesville, Va.) will travel west where they will face players from San Diego, Denver and UC Irvine. Matches will be played at the Skip and Cindy Hogan Tennis Complex on the San Diego campus. The tournament includes two doubles rounds and a singles match on Friday, a doubles match and a singles match on Saturday and a singles round on Sunday.

The rest of the team will face players from teams located in the Mid-Atlantic region –– Georgetown, James Madison, Hampton, Virginia and Virginia Tech, among others ––– in Richmond. The game will take place on the Richmond campus as well as the nearby Collegiate School. There will be a singles round played on each of the three days, with three doubles matches played on Friday and Saturday.
