Dubai Rainy Street to open this year | Tech Rasta

The first time I was transported from Jumeirah Fishing Port to the Heart of Europe Island Development by the Kleindienst Group was before the pandemic was announced. With great scale and wealth of a set of holiday islands named after various European countries left me wondering.

From the Floating Seahorse villas overlooking the largest swimming pool in the region, to villas in “Germany” and private villas in “Sweden”, this ambitious project shows the promise of luxury living that Dubai often associated with it. .

While the pandemic delayed the project for a few years, it is preparing to launch the Cote d’Azur Monaco, the first of many hotels, later this year. In addition to the vibe of the French Riviera the adults-only hotel will pass, it also boasts the world’s first Rain Street.

As the name suggests, the kilometer-long street will be equipped with equipment that ensures rain falls on command, a feature that serves two purposes – a novelty, for one, as well as the dream of Austrian chairman Josef Kleindienst to create a climate. – control the microcosm in the heart of the desert.

Here, not only raindrops will continue to fall on your head, but the road will also be kept at a temperature of 27 ° C, with a wind speed of 5 kilometers per hour and a humidity level of 60 percent – the same as a European summer. .

The intensity of the rain can be replaced by rain, wind or moderate rain depending on the weather, while in the peak of summer you can even expect heavy rain.

“The technology ensures that as soon as the temperature is above 27 ° C on the island, cold water in the form of rain will fall from the top of the buildings through hidden pipes,” Kleindienst said.

The end game? To ensure visitors enjoy good weather all year round – although how this installation fits in with the project’s overall sustainability goals has yet to be revealed.
