It’s no secret that Dubai is absolutely electric at night – but did you know the city is famous for its glorious sunset?

From sandy beaches to picturesque mountains, here are the best places to see in Dubai as the golden glow lights up the sleepy horizon. Set your alarm before the city comes to life and head to these places for an unforgettable experience.

One of the most beautiful places in Dubai, the natural salt water creek is the perfect place to catch the first rays of the day.

For an extra special experience, take a small wooden boat known as an Abra down to the water’s edge, and walk the 14km long inlet to the rhythm of the gentle morning breeze.

Sunny beach

The aptly named beach is a local and tourist favorite – not only for its sunbathers and crystal, aquamarine waters, but for its unparalleled view of nearly all of Dubai’s skyline.

Get down to Jumeirah Beach 2 as early as you can to catch the glow of the sunrise against the city skyline.

No list of places to see can be complete without the inclusion of the tallest building on the planet! Head to ‘Top’, the observation deck on the 124th and 125th floors for sweeping, panoramic views of the entire city as it wakes up.

Atlantis, Palm

Nestled between the city and the calm waters of the Arabian Gulf, Dubai’s luxury hotel is the perfect place to watch the sunrise. Head down early to the Aquaventure beach and catch the first rays of the day against the stunning backdrop of the endless ocean and the hotel’s famous arch.

Hatta Dam

Officially crowned as one of the world’s most Instagrammed road trips of 2019 – according to a report by UAE-based Wecashanycar – Hatta Dam is a sight to behold at any time of the day.

While the site is open 24 hours, get there before dawn to watch the morning sun float over the jagged pool tops and sparkling reservoir. Bring your family, too; many seating areas and food options available!
