Joshi, speaking at the 48th CIL Foundation Day, said the company had met its coal supply target of more than 100 percent in FY23.

He said the country was driven by an ongoing coal supply with record-breaking coal production.

“… CIL shows a bright growth. And I commend leadership for taking action when the country needs them most. I expect this year’s target to be greatly exceeded,” Joshi added.

Pramod Agrawal, president of CIL, said the company’s commitment to the nation is inspiring and it is getting stronger every day.

CIL’s production rose 17.4% to 351.9 million tonnes during the April-October period of this budget.

The company’s coal production rose to 52.9 tonnes in October, compared with 49.8 tonnes in the same month in the previous financial statement.
