Android maker Realme will copy Apple’s Dynamic Island | Tech Rasta

Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro brings a clever new way to not only cover up the selfie camera and face recognition cutouts, but actually make that space useful for the UI. “Dynamic Island” is certainly getting a lot of attention, and it seems that some Android makers are already planning to make their own version of the feature.

Over the past few days, Oppo’s sub-brand, Realme, has very clearly confirmed its plans to develop a Dynamic Island version of its Android phone.

In a forum post, Realme “challenged” its fans to help create a “Realme Island” that expands from a punch-hole selfie camera. The brand notes that this space can be used to “display incoming calls, alerts, notifications, and more” as it morphs from around the camera into different shapes and sizes.

This sounds very similar to how Apple uses Dynamic Island, but probably shows more central elements in the UI. On the iPhone, Dynamic Island shows a minimized view of apps, currently playing music, and more, while the Realme version on Android is sure to be used more frequently.

Xiaomi President Lu Weibing also acknowledged user requests for the “smart island” feature in a Weibo post (from Gadgets 360), but the company has not presented clear plans for a Dynamic Island clone.

It’s no surprise that Android makers are trying to figure out ways to mimic Apple’s new feature, as it does seem like a really interesting and useful addition to the UI, and most modern Android phones already have similar, but smaller Much more on the monitor.

For this, there are Already a mod created by several fans For Android which brings a dynamic island experience to the operating system. At this point, it’s just a question of who might adopt this feature formal first.
